David Lafarga is Senior Counsel at DLEI&D. David concentrates his practice on construction litigation, construction accidents (New York Labor Law §§ 240 and 241[6]), and complex general liability matters.
David is a senior litigator with more than 25 years of experience handling complex litigation, professional liability matters, internal investigations, and reputational risk issues on behalf of corporate clients and law firms. Drawing on substantial experience advising legal and corporate leadership teams, David regularly assists clients in evaluating litigation exposure, developing defense strategies, and managing high-risk disputes.
David is admitted to practice in New York and Michigan, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Southern, and Western Districts of New York, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He is also a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association.
David received his B.A. from Seton Hall University and earned his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
Outside of his legal practice, David enjoys cooking, traveling, and volunteering with the Rutherford, New Jersey Community Emergency Response Team.
